# 1: Extreme heat resistance
Conventional glass shatters when exposed to heat. This is not the case with borosilicate glass, because it has a very high melting point - and is quite heat-resistant. The reason for this is the low coefficient of thermal expansion. Borosilicate glass defies extreme temperatures, does not start to melt, but remains clear and robust. It only becomes critical at a working temperature of 515 degrees Celsius - but it rarely gets that hot, even in the most modern household.
For you this means: You can easily put a baking pan or a glass bottle made of borosilicate glass in the dishwasher or fill it with boiling water. It won't burst.
By the way: borosilicate glass can also withstand temperature fluctuations and different temperatures at the same time.
# 2: Light glass and yet stable
Borosilicate glass is extremely stable and robust despite its light weight. Borosilicate glass is therefore ideal for drinking bottles that are used on the go or during sports. Nevertheless, it is of course still glass - so be careful not to drop your water bottle from too high a height. We do have glass bottles to reorder in case of emergency.
# 3: chemicals free
Not only extreme temperatures or light impacts cannot harm borosilicate glass, chemicals usually also have no chance and are efficiently warded off. The reason for this is the high boron content of the glasses.
Whether neutral and acidic solutions, strong acids or bromine, iodine and chlorine - borosilicate glass is resistant to even the worst chemicals. Only phosphoric acid, hydrofluoric acid and strong alkalis can harm the glass.
Therefore, borosilicate glass is widely used in chemical laboratories. Even if it were exposed to a corrosive environment for millions of years, borosilicate glass would remain intact!
By the way: In terms of its chemical resistance, borosilicate glass surpasses most metals and materials!
# 4: Unflavoured
Because of its chemical resistance, borosilicate glass is the best glass for storing food (according to research evidence). It does not contain any chemicals or substances that are hazardous to health and is also tasteless - and does not absorb any smells, tastes or discoloration.
# 5 The environmentally friendly alternative
Compared to conventional glass, borosilicate glass is the more environmentally friendly alternative. Why? Because borosilicate glass is completely recyclable and reusable after melting!
